StoneSprings Hospital Center in Virginia is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. The role involves assisting with nursing care under the direct and indirect supervision of an OR RN, serving as a sterile scrub person for procedures, and supporting a circulating nurse when needed.

Candidates should have an Surgical Technician course or equivalent, a current Virginia Surgical Technologist license, BLS, and ideally two years of OR scrubbing experience.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of employment start date
• Surgical Technician course or equivalent required
• Current license as Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Two years OR scrubbing experience preferred

Responsabilités

• Assist with nursing care of the patient under the direct and indirect supervision of an OR Registered Nurse
• Functions as a sterile scrub person caring for patients undergoing surgery within the OR suite
• May assist with duties of a circulating nurse under the immediate supervision of a circulating RN
• Considers age-related factors in care, treatment, education and evaluation of patients from neonates to geriatrics
• Applies knowledge of age-related factors according to standards and departmental policies
