Job summary

University Hospital seeks an Operating Room Technician I to assist with surgical procedures under the supervision of a professional nurse. The role requires knowledge of sterile technique, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail to support physicians during invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.

The candidate should be a certified surgical technician with eligibility to sit for the LCC-ST exam; one year of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician Program.
• Eligible to sit for the LCC-ST certifying examination.
• Certification as an Operating Room Technician (LCC-ST) plus one year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical procedures under direct supervision of the nurse.
• Scrub for minor and major surgical and endoscopic procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique and anatomy in support of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Participate in quality assessment and continuing education activities as required.
