Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to function as a scrub in the Operating Rooms, under RN direction. You will assist with cases from infants to geriatrics, prepare specimens, and maintain sterile fields.

Minimum qualifications include surgical technology certification and a formal program completion. The role requires teamwork, time management, and flexibility for shifts and on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or certified equivalent; graduate of a formal surgical technology program.
• Certification in surgical technology is required.
• New graduate or experienced surgical technologist eligible for position.

Responsibilities

• Sets up cases with proper instrumentation and supplies prior to start of case. Follows policy for hand asepsis and maintains organized sterile field.
• Monitors and maintains integrity of sterile field; assists with room equipment and patient positioning during surgery.
• Contributes to productivity by efficient case turnover and accurate reporting of supplies used; may require overtime, call, and holiday coverage.
• Performs routine tasks to support OR operations and cleans workrooms and central core as needed.
