Community Health Systems is seeking a Surgical Technician – Certified to support operating room procedures in Carlsbad, NM. The role involves preparing and maintaining the sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and ensuring proper handling of instruments and supplies.

The technician will help maintain OR efficiency through equipment readiness, inventory management, and infection prevention practices.

Responsabilités

• Prepare operating room, instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout surgeries according to aseptic technique.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently.
• Handle instruments and equipment per policy, including cleaning and sterilization.
• Document counts for sponge, needle, and instruments with circulating nurse.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction.
• Maintain physician preference cards and procedural documentation.
• Restock supplies and prep rooms for subsequent cases.
• Comply with policies and standards and maintain attendance.
