Job summary

North-Okaloosa-Medical-Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in Crestview, FL. The role focuses on preparing the sterile field, maintaining asepsis, and ensuring efficient instrument handling throughout procedures.

The ideal candidate will have CST certification, BLS, and 0–2 years OR experience, with strong teamwork and infection-control skills to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program (technical school) or an associate degree in Surgical Technology/Applied Sciences.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room with instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures and physician preference cards.
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to Universal Precautions, asepsis, and sterile technique.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments accurately during procedures.
• Handle instruments per manufacturer instructions and hospital policy, including cleaning and sterilization.
