Job summary

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential within facility policy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 12–18 months of acute care operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain aseptic technique and sterile field throughout procedures.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon and team during procedures.
• Track sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure none are left in the patient.
• Assist with room turnover and waste disposal.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment per standards.
• Process specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Document instrument counts and sterilization indicators.
• Comply with infection control and PPE protocols.
• Support performance improvement and risk management initiatives.
