Methodist Southwest Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Surgical Technician II Certified to support the operating room team. You will anticipate needs, hand instruments to surgeons, and assist with room turnover, including terminal cleaning and instrument sterile processing. On-call duties and BLS certification are required.

The role requires CST certification, a high school diploma or GED, and advanced competency in multiple specialties as determined by the hospital.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
On call required.
Graduate of Surgical Technology program or military-trained; AD in Surgical Technology preferred.
Advanced competencies in a minimum of 3 specialties.

Responsabilités

Anticipate needs of the surgical team and obtain instrumentation and supplies for procedures.
Pass instruments to surgeon and assistant during procedures.
Assist with terminal cleaning and preparation for the following case.
Begin cleaning back table and prepare instruments for terminal cleaning and sterilization.
Place instruments back in tray for transport to SPD.
Follow policy, universal protocol and medication labeling requirements.
Work with students and junior staff on passing and retrieving instruments.
