Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, TX is seeking a Surgical Tech II Certified for full-time 0630-1900 shifts. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and ensure the availability of instruments and supplies for the case.

The role requires CST and BLS certification, graduation from a certified Surgical Technologist program, and advanced competencies in at least 3 specialties as determined by the hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of certified Surgical Technologist program or AD in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
• Advanced competencies in at least 3 specialties as determined by hospital.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate needs of the surgical team and obtain instrumentation and supplies for the procedure.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and assistant during the procedure.
• Assist with terminal cleaning of the room and preparation for the next case.
• Begin cleaning back table and preparing instruments for terminal cleaning and sterilization as circulator prepares patient to leave.
• Place instruments back in the tray for transport to SPD.
• Know and follow policies such as count policy, universal protocol and medication labeling.
• Work with students and junior staff on correct instrument passing and retrieval during surgeries.
