Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech First Assistant (CSTFA) for our perioperative team.

The CSTFA will support the surgeon and perform roles of both surgical technologist and first assistant as needed, ensuring safe operations and optimal patient outcomes. Applicants should have Surgical Technician First Assist Certification and BLS, with at least two years of Surgical Tech experience.

Responsibilities

• The CSTFA works as a member of the perioperative team under the direction of the surgeon. He/she performs responsibilities of both the Surgical Technologist and the Surgical First Assistant based on department needs and as directed by the department leadership.
• The CSTFA practices within the scope of the job description and performs clinical and technical skills under surgeon supervision to assist with carrying out a safe operation with optimal patient results. The CSTFA is educated and skilled in both the handling and use of surgical instruments on tissues. The CSTFA does not concurrently function as the scrub nurse.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.
