Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID, is seeking a full-time Certified Surgical Technologist for the Main Operating Room. This Level II Trauma Center offers opportunities across Ortho, Neuro, General, Urology, and more, with tuition reimbursement and ongoing clinical ladder progression.

The position features day shift options (4-10s or 3-12s), on-call requirements, and benefits beginning day one. Sign-on/relocation incentives may be available.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the NBSTSA or as a Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) by the NCCT is required.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network is required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of cautery safety during procedures.
• Recognizes breaks in aseptic technique and takes corrective action.
• Performs equipment checks to ensure proper functioning.
• Updates and reviews surgeon preference cards.
• Able to gown and glove other members of the sterile team.
• Able to gown and glove self using closed and open techniques.
• Independently functions in at least one other specialty area.
• Anticipates and prioritizes surgeon needs.
• Communicates resource needs to the RN Circulator.
• Manages instrument, sponge, and sharp counts for procedures.
• Assists the RN Circulator to set up rooms and obtain equipment.
