Under the RN direction, the scrub technician serves as a vital member of the team in the scrub/assistant role, assisting surgeons and nurses with instrumentation and supplies for diverse surgical procedures and ensuring patient safety throughout operations.

The role includes maintaining sterile environments, preparing and checking medications and dressings, and helping with room setup, turnover, and equipment knowledge.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous surgical experience is preferred.
• BLS CST certification from NBSTA is required.

Responsabilidades

• Sets the sterile environment and maintains sterile field during procedures.
• Assists in patient positioning and transport as needed.
• Prepares, checks, and monitors medications and dressings as required.
• Assists with a variety of surgical procedures across ages.
• Mentors new staff and participates in staff education.
• Supports stocking and restocking of supplies to ensure availability.
• Participates in quality improvement and performance improvement activities.
