Job summary

University of Southern California Arcadia Hospital is seeking a Surgical Scrub Technician to join the OR team. You will assist surgeons, nurses, and staff in maintaining a sterile field, preparing the operating room, and handling instruments and supplies for a variety of procedures.

Under RN supervision, you will support patient positioning, specimen handling, and post-procedure dressings. BLS certification and CST from NBSTA are required, with preference for prior surgical experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred prior surgical experience.
• Past CST certification may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets the sterile environment and maintains the sterile field during procedures.
• Assists in patient positioning and transport as needed.
• Assists on all types of procedures for patients of all ages with emphasis on safety.
• Takes care of specimens, prepares and checks medications, and assists with dressings.
• Prepares operating room and instruments for various surgical procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of specialty equipment and instrument function and sterilization.
