Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Surgical Tech First Assist Certified (CSFA) for the Riverview/South Tampa area. The role supports the surgeon in the operating room, handling patient prep, draping, tissue retraction and instrument control to ensure optimal visualization and outcomes.

Requirements include HS/GED, CSFA and BLS certification, with at least 3 years as a Surgical Tech and 1 year as a Surgical First Assistant. Schedule includes day shifts with occasional on-call demand.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• CSFA certification required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon during procedures and maintain the sterile field.
• Position, prep and drape patients for surgery.
• Retract tissues and assist with visualization and hemostasis.
• Assist with equipment selection and closing incisions as needed.
