Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Surgical Technologist First Assistant in Tampa to support the operating room team with draping, positioning and perception of the surgical field. You will assist the surgeon and help manage instrumentation and tissue exposure throughout procedures.

The role requires 3 years as a Surgical Tech with at least 1 year as a First Assistant, plus BLS and CSFA certifications, and offers full-time, exempt status with excellent benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience as a Surgical Tech and 1-year Surgical First Assistant experience.
• Must have High School or Equivalent and Surgical Technology First Assist Certificate.
• BLS certification and CSFA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during surgery and in the operating room.
• Position, prep and drape patients for procedures.
• Provide tissue and organ retraction for optimal visualization.
• Assist with equipment selection, incisions, bleeding control and closures.
