Duly Health and Care in Westmont, IL is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to prepare surgical instruments per AAMI standards and maintain sterilization records. The role supports OR readiness, inventory management, and instrument maintenance to ensure safe, sterile supplies for procedures.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, 2 years instrument technician experience, a Certified Sterile Processing Certificate, and current Basic Life Support certification.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Instrument technician experience, 2 years or equivalent experience.
• Certified Sterile Processing Certificate required.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and principles of sterilization and instrument handling.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups; multilingual skills preferred.

Responsabilités

• Organizes time, equipment, and supplies to ensure items are ready for the OR according to daily schedule.
• Uses equipment accurately to prevent breakage or loss of instruments.
• Maintains proper aseptic techniques and sterilization standards.
• Manages inventory of instruments and supplies in instrument rooms and decontamination areas.
• Performs daily testing and records sterilization logs; runs tests on sterilizers as required.
• Cleans, wraps, and sterilizes instruments using steam, Sterrad, Steris, and endoscope reprocessor methods.
• Accounts for instruments upon receipt from the OR and assists in turnover of OR rooms as needed.
