Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Instrument technician experience, 2 years or equivalent.
• Certified Sterile Processing Certificate required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Organize time, equipment, and supplies for OR readiness.
• Use equipment to prevent loss or damage.
• Maintain aseptic techniques per standards.
• Manage inventory across instrument, decontamination, and sterile rooms.
• Perform daily sterility testing and keep logs.
• Use manufacturer IFUs for cleaning and sterilization.
• Wrap, clean, and sterilize instruments using multiple methods.
• Ensure instruments are accounted for on receipt from the OR.
• Assist in turnover of OR rooms between cases.
