Job summary

Lexington Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (SPD) for the full-time 3pm-11pm shift. This role requires a CSPDT certification or equivalent and a High School diploma with two years in Sterile Processing.

You will support the SPD Supervisor, oversee case carts, and ensure equipment operates smoothly while maintaining compliance logs. The department emphasizes education, collaboration with OR teams, and adherence to safety protocols in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with two years in Sterile Processing experience.
• Certification as CSPDT or other sterile processing certification required.
• Certification in Sterile Processing Management encouraged within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead SPD staff during shift as needed.
• Assist SPD Supervisor to meet department production requirements.
• Direct SPD staff with case carts management and communicate issues.
• Discuss instrument needs with SPD Liaisons and OR Coordinators clearly.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and report issues to the supervisor/department.
• Help maintain departmental compliance logs and records.
• Assist with policy enforcement and department initiatives.
• Participate in special projects and interdepartmental committees.
