Position Summary

The certified Sterile Processing Technician within the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) performs all tasks associated with the processing of surgical instruments and medical devices, including cleaning, decontamination, assembly, sterilization/high‑level disinfection, monitoring of environmental conditions, sterilization processes, HLD processes, assembly and dispatching of case carts and emergency carts, and inventory and ordering of SPD supplies.

Required Qualifications

1. High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent program.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with STERRAD sterilization.

Licenses and Certifications

1. National Certification: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPDT).

Working Conditions

Lifts a minimum of 30 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands for a minimum length of shift.
