The role requires graduation from an accredited surgical technician program and certification within one year of hire, with emphasis on aseptic technique and teamwork with the RN team.

Qualifications

• Under RN direction, performs scrub duties in perioperative setting.
• Demonstrates respect for patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
• Assists circulating RN as directed.
• Obtains supplies and equipment based on patient and surgical needs.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties during surgeries and maintains sterile field.
• Counts sponges, needles, and instruments with RN guidance.
• Labels and handles medications on sterile field under supervision.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Ensures patients are treated with respect and compassion.
