Job summary

TEEMA Group is seeking a dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our Labor and Delivery team as an OB Scrub Technologist. In this night-shift role, you will handle instruments, maintain sterile technique, and support surgeons during obstetric procedures in a high-volume hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds CST credentials, a current BLS, and a strong history in surgical instrumentation, patient safety, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Surgical Technology Pathways: must meet one of the following state-mandated criteria.
• Graduate from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited program and holds/maintains a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
• Successful completion of a military surgical technology program.
• Grandfathered status (verified cumulative employment as a surgical technologist for at least 1 year within a healthcare facility during the designated regulatory window).
• Current active service within the federal government, performing duties related to that service.
• Credentials: Active Certification through a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization (e.g., Certified Surgical Technologist - CST).
• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Surgical Instrumentation: Expertly handle, prepare, and organize the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for obstetric surgical procedures and emergency cesarean sections.
• Sterile Field Vigilance: Maintain constant, unwavering vigilance over the sterile technique, ensuring a safe and infection-free environment for every patient.
• Surgeon Anticipation: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the specific surgical procedures being performed to proactively anticipate and meet the needs of the surgical team.
• Collaborative Care: Work closely under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, or Registered Professional Nurse to support seamless operating room flow.
• Quality & Patient Safety: Ensure high-quality patient care throughout the operative experience by strictly adhering to hospital safety guidelines, universal precautions, and departmental standards.
