Job summary

The Surgical Scrub Tech role at St. Mary Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, supports the Labor and Delivery unit. The position requires sterile technique, instrument handling, and collaboration with the nursing team to prepare and maintain a safe surgical field.

Employed per diem on the Night shift (7pm-7:30am), with required in-house certifications. A high school diploma or GED and Surgical Tech Certification are required, with 1–2 years of preferred experience.

Qualifications

• Surgical Tech Certification required; 1–2 years of experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile technique and aseptic field throughout procedures.
• Assists in transfer and positioning of patients and prepares supplies.
• Collaborates with circulating nurse to organize room and equipment.
• Maintains equipment and instrumentation in proper function; responds to emergencies.
• Acts as advocate for patient rights and ensures safe, ethical practice.
