Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.

The role supports night shift, part-time scheduling and involves developing individualized respiratory care plans, administering medications, and providing patient education and airway management during emergencies. A sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month (30 days) of hire.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed by Wisconsin MEB before hire.
• ALS preferred. PALS preferred.
• AAP neonatal resuscitation certification preferred.
• Education: high school diploma with 2 years of cumulative experience or associate/technical degree or 4 years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage individualized respiratory care plans and adjust therapies and equipment for safe treatment.
• Administer respiratory medications and monitor patient progress to support recovery.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and provide airway management during emergencies and resuscitation events.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
