Job summary

Avera St. Mary's Hospital is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our anesthesia team. The role includes pre-operative assessments, planning and delivering anesthesia, airway management, and post-operative care, with opportunities to mentor anesthesia students.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-operative anesthesia assessments.

  • Establish venous access and monitor patient during procedure.
  • Provide post-operative care and follow-up for each case.
  • Instruct anesthesia students as a clinical instructor.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewCares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.What you will doPerforms a pre-operative patient assessment.Determines a plan of care and communicating the plan of care to patient and family.Establishes and maintains essential venous access.Ensures establishment and maintenance of airway.Responsible for inducting, maintaining the anesthesia, and proper monitoring.Responsible for completing the anesthesia and the emergence from anesthesia.Transfers care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure.Performs post-operative follow-up for each case performed.Perform as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
