Job summary

Avera Marshall Hospital is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our anesthesia team. The role includes pre-operative assessment, planning and communication with patients and families, venous access, airway management, and monitoring/anesthesia induction and emergence during procedures.

The position requires RN and CRNA licensure with NBCRNA certification, and the ability to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to work the specified hours and perform each essential function.
• Excellent communication with patients and team; ability to hear and distinguish speech.
• Visual acuity sufficient for position duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative patient assessment and plan care.
• Establish venous access and airway; monitor anesthesia.
• Induct, maintain, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Transfer care to appropriate staff after procedure.
• Post-operative follow-up and clinical instruction for anesthesia students.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewCares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.What you will doPerforms a pre-operative patient assessment.Determines a plan of care and communicating the plan of care to patient and family.Establishes and maintains essential venous access.Ensures establishment and maintenance of airway.Responsible for inducting, maintaining the anesthesia, and proper monitoring.Responsible for completing the anesthesia and the emergence from anesthesia.Transfers care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure.Performs post-operative follow-up for each case performed.Perform as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
