Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is seeking a day-shift, full-time Certified Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our patient-focused rehabilitation team.

You will deliver care per established plans, supervise clinical staff, and promote physical therapy services across the organization while advancing your clinical skills in a supportive, community hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in physical therapy required.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Kansas required.
• BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record for past 2 years.
• At least 1 year of driving experience.
• Preferred: prior medical or rehabilitation setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care following physical therapy plans of care and ensure prescribed care is delivered per standards.
• Provide direction and clinical supervision to clinical support staff.
• Promote physical therapy services and professional development within the organization and community.
• Report to department leadership.

Responsibilities

• Performs delivery of care following physical therapy plans of care and assures delivery of prescribed care to assigned patients consistent with standards of practice defined by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the physical therapy practice act in the State of Kansas.
• Provides direction and clinical supervision to clinical support staff.
• Promotes physical therapy services and professional development throughout the organization and community.
• Reports to the assigned leader of the department.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in physical therapy.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Kansas.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and must provide an original driving record.
• Driving record must not reveal any DUIs, speeding tickets, or accidents within the past two (2) years.
• One (1) year of driving experience.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Previous medical setting or rehabilitation setting experience.
• Experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office.
