Job summary

Hy-Vee in Kentucky is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician with Immunizations to support pharmacists with prescriptions, insurance billing, and vaccine administration in a fast-paced retail setting. You will gather patient information, prepare medications, process orders, maintain HIPAA compliance, and stock supplies while delivering friendly service to customers.

Requires high school diploma, active technician license, CPR and Immunization certification; prior pharmacy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified as a licensed pharmacy technician; must maintain CE to keep license active.
• CPR and Immunization Certification required; CE to keep certification active.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk preferred.
• Vaccination certification as required by law where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Handle inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise and judgment.
• Accept new written prescription orders and telephoned refill requests as allowed by the supervising pharmacist.
• Gather and maintain accurate patient information required to prepare prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing.
• Prepare labels and prescriptions for mailing; submit insurance claims and assist with third-party billing.
• File prescriptions after dispensing; report medication errors to appropriate personnel.
• Order, check in, and stock pharmacy supplies and log invoices as necessary.
• Administer vaccines as allowed by law in accordance with CPR and Immunization Certification requirements.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and adhere to all pharmacy statutes and store policies.
