Under pharmacist supervision, you will schedule and prepare chemotherapy, TPNs, IV additives, and irrigating solutions, using aseptic technique in laminar air flow hoods to support patient care. You will assist with ordering, stocking, recalls, DSCSA compliance, inventory rotation, and delivering meds to care areas, serving neonatal to geriatric patients while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Certification as Pharmacy Technician preferred or obtained within 1st year.
• Registration with Iowa Board of Pharmacy or obtain within 1st year.

Responsibilities

• Understands and follows standard dilution and preparation procedures for all drugs for all age groups.
• Prepares Large Volume solutions with additives, IVPB's, syringes, and irrigation solutions using sterile technique.
• Completes twice annual sterile technique testing and monitors results.
• Manufactures TPN solutions using a TPN compounder with proper sterile technique and inventory management.
• Ensures doses are ready for delivery runs to depart after pharmacist check.
• Loads or delivers 'stat' and 'now' medication orders promptly after pharmacist check.
• Maintains drug inventory and minimizes waste per DSCSA and recalls.
• Keeps storage areas checked for outdates and ensures accurate expiration dating.
