UnityPoint Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug product records, and managing inventory under supervision. Duties include data entry, insurance billing, and patient communication.

Requirements include a high school diploma, English proficiency, basic math, and experience with pharmacy systems. Certification as a CPhT and Iowa licensure are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must have strong math skills with basic algebra.
• Must type accurately and with moderate speed.
• Experience with computer systems is required.
• One or more years of community pharmacy experience preferred.
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist-Intern with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy before employment.
• Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the PTCB or other recognized provider.

Aufgaben

• Creates and maintains patient profiles within the pharmacy system.
• Performs accurate data entry by selecting the correct drug product, interpreting sig codes, and entering all other prescription components.
• Performs third party billing and resolves insurance rejections.
• Prepares medication orders by counting, measuring, or reconstituting the drug product.
• Accurately compounds sterile and non-sterile products, including IV medications, creams, ointments, suspensions, and solutions, per laws and regulations.
