Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support central pharmacy operations, including Pyxis dispensing and compounding per USP guidelines. You will assist with medication history, inventory management, and training new staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, and adherence to regulatory standards, under the supervision of licensed pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician Supervisors.

Qualifications

• 2 years acute care experience and/or USP 795 or 797 pharmacy experience.
• Familiarity with sterile and non-sterile compounding USP standards.
• Ability to support drug distribution and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Support central pharmacy drug distribution (carousel) and automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis).
• Assist in sterile and non-sterile compounding per USP 795/797.
• Perform medication history collection and documentation for admissions.
• Train new staff and participate in staff development initiatives.
• Ensure patient safety and accurate dispensing in collaboration with pharmacists.
