Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the preparation, labeling, packaging, and distribution of medications in a fast-paced environment. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to ensure accurate delivery of inpatient and outpatient prescriptions.

The role requires active pharmacy technician registration within 30 days, and CPhT certification upon hire or PTCB/NHA credentialing.

Qualifications

• Active state Pharmacy Technician registration within 30 days of hire.
• CPhT certification required upon hire or board certification (PTCB/NHA).
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist under pharmacist supervision with labeling, packaging, and dispensing inpatient/outpatient medications.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, customers, and colleagues to promote safe, accurate medication delivery.
• Perform clerical duties: billing, patient demographics, and inventory management.
• Assist with reports and maintenance of records related to accreditation bodies.
• May answer customer inquiries in person or by phone.
• Maintain inventory and perform routine inspections of medication stock.
