Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician in Training must register with the SD Board within 30 days.
• PTCB certification or approved alternate training/certification is required for advancement.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under pharmacist supervision, input and prepare labels and packages for medication orders.
• Assist in drug preparation, storage, distribution and inventory management.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications, calculations and safety practices.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, customers and colleagues.
• Perform clerical tasks such as billing and inventory procedures.

Education

Pharmacy Technician in Training - SD Board of Pharmacy Registered within State requirements within 30 Days

Certified Pharmacy Technician - Board Certification or approved training/certification program

High School or GED Equivalent
