Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
- Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting customers, resolving issues, and answering questions.
- Assist in pharmacy operations, including data entry, prescription filling, verifying medications, and maintaining workflow.
- Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
- Handle sales, cash registers, and customer assistance in OTC aisles.
- Support inventory management, clinical services, and maintain good relationships with healthcare providers.
- Comply with all policies, maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, and complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain PTCB certification and participate in ongoing training and education.
Qualifications
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Prefer at least six months of retail experience, prior Walgreens experience, good math and computer skills, and PTCB certification.
