Job Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties following Company policies and procedures.
- Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations. If PTCB certified, help train pharmacy technicians and cashiers in system and register operations.
- Provide a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging customers, resolving issues, and sharing best practices in customer service.
Customer Experience
- Greet customers and patients, offer assistance, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal skills and Walgreens service traits.
- Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
Operations
- Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
- Perform assigned duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and assisting in workflow management.
- Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality improvement policies.
- Follow Good Faith Dispensing policies during prescription activities.
- Handle sales registration, cash collection, and assist customers in locating products.
- Manage telephone inquiries not requiring pharmacist intervention.
- Process third-party claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
- Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
- Assist in administering clinical services and coordinating with healthcare providers.
- Maintain good relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
- Ensure the pharmacy area is well-stocked, clean, and orderly.
- Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintain PTCB certification through training and continuing education; obtain certification as required for promotion.
- Attend training, complete PPLs, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional Requirements
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
