Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Part Time Pharmacy Technician I for the Inpatient Pharmacy to support dispensing, inventory management, and customer service. The role includes maintaining records and operating automated systems under pharmacist supervision.

Outpatient/Retail responsibilities involve prescription transcription, insurance coordination, and provider communication. Requires high school diploma, board registration, and certification within 6 months; 0–1 year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or State accepted equivalency.
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician/Intern with the Board by start date.
• Must be certified by examination by a Board approved credentialing program (PTCB or exCPT) within 6 months.
• Experience: None required; 6 months–1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute pharmaceuticals, perform inventory control, provide customer service, and maintain pharmacy records.
• Operate and monitor pharmacy automated technology systems under supervision.
• Inpatient/Retail role includes data entry, prescription transcription, and insurance claim issue resolution.
