Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I for inpatient services on a part-time basis. The role supports pharmacists by preparing and distributing medications, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records within the hospital pharmacy.

The outpatient/retail component includes prescription transcription, insurance claim resolution, and communications with providers as needed to assist the pharmacist.

Qualifications

• Position: Certified Pharmacy Technician I
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification: Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician/Intern with the Board; must be certified by a Board approved credentialing program (PTCB or exCPT) within 6 months
• Experience: None required; 6 months – 1 year preferred
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Interpersonal skills, English fluency, ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, basic math and computer proficiency

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute pharmaceuticals, perform inventory control, provide customer service, maintain pharmacy records and operate/monitor pharmacy automated technology systems
• In Outpatient/Retail Pharmacy, perform data entry tasks such as prescription transcription and entry, resolve insurance claim issues, and contact providers as appropriate for the pharmacist
