Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician I for the Outpatient Pharmacy to prepare and distribute medications, operate automated systems, maintain inventory, and support quality audits and patient care.

Per Diem schedule with MA registration required by hire date and national certification (PTCB or exCPT) within 6 months. The position offers a supportive training environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy by the hire date.
• National certification from PTCB or exCPT, or within 6 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs data entry tasks such as prescription transcription and entry; resolves third-party insurance issues; maintains customer/patient confidentiality.
• Prepares prescription orders in a timely manner; retrieves, counts, measures and prepares medications and solutions; ensures work is checked by a pharmacist.
• Supports pharmacist services to maximize patient care outcomes and dispenses prescriptions at the point-of-sale in a professional manner.
• Communicates equipment malfunctions and unsafe conditions to pharmacists or supervisor.
• Attends hospital and management trainings and development workshops.
