Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the Outpatient Pharmacy in the Retail/Yawkey Pharmacy. The role involves preparing and dispensing medications, operating pharmacy automation, maintaining inventory, and providing patient service.

Requires MA Board of Pharmacy registration at hire, national certification (PTCB or exCPT) or within 6 months, and 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred. Per diem schedule with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy by the hire date.
• Must have national certification (PTCB or exCPT) or within 6 months from start date.
• Pharmacy students may be eligible for internship with waived experience.
• 6 months to 1 year of work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Data entry and prescription transcription; resolve third-party insurance issues; protect patient confidentiality.
• Prepare prescription orders; count, measure and compound medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Support pharmacists to ensure correct patient dispensing at point of sale; provide excellent patient service.
