Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist in daily operations, ensuring accurate entry of patient and drug information, dispensing medications, and maintaining workflow under supervision. You will help with inventory, cash handling, and customer service to create a positive pharmacy experience.

Ideal candidates will have six months of retail experience, familiarity with Walgreens procedures, and strong math and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Six months of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens preferred.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification preferred/required for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision by the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy according to state, federal, and company policy.
• Enter patient and drug information in pharmacy systems; retrieve, count and pour medications; verify accuracy and potential interactions.
• Assist pharmacists by scheduling and maintaining workflow; report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
