RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist for the Alamance Behavioral Health Center to deliver highly individualized behavioral health support and promote self-determination among clients with mental health or substance use challenges.

The role includes day, evening, and overnight shifts with differential pay, opportunities to lead groups, and active engagement in community-based recovery activities.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist in NC or PA.
• 1 year experience working with individuals with behavioral health issues preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Complete pre-employment screening: criminal background check, name check in registries (OIG, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities), drug testing.
• Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
• Proof of employment history or references (if required).

Responsabilités

• Model effective coping and self‑help techniques.
• Provide empowerment skills and support for successful recovery living.
• Assist individuals in finding resources, advising processes, and encouraging follow‑through with proposed resolutions.
• Lead peer support groups for individuals served.
• Support and assist individuals in daily decision‑making and resolution of minor problems.
• Facilitate social opportunities in the community.
• Foster development of healthy relationships by encouraging participation in community activities.
• Share personal story of recovery and resilience to instill hope.
