Resources for Human Development (RHD) seeks a Certified Peer Specialist for the Lednum Transitional Recovery Program in Durham, NC. You will provide peer support, advocacy, and recovery education to help participants gain independence and community connection.

You’ll work with clients to rebuild wellness, coping skills, and meaningful daily living, guided by a recovery-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years of experience working with others in mental health recovery.
• 18 credit hours of additional training each year.
• Must pass employment screenings and clearances, including OIG/Sanctions, references, and background checks.

Responsabilités

• Provide individualized peer support and recovery-focused services.
• Advocate for individuals throughout the recovery process.
• Encourage engagement in treatment and recovery services.
• Model healthy recovery and wellness strategies.
• Help participants recognize strengths and take an active role in their recovery.
• Promote self-advocacy, choice, empowerment, and hope.
