Job summary

Alleghany Highlands Community Services is seeking a compassionate Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to support individuals with behavioral health needs and developmental disabilities. The role emphasizes evidence-based recovery strategies, crisis support, and collaboration with the treatment team.

You will provide counseling during ECO processes, help clients articulate needs, monitor progress, and connect them with appropriate services. A focus on empathetic, client-centered care is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with safe driving record.
• Must be or have previously been a recipient of mental health or substance use services and be well along in recovery.
• Certified Peer Recovery Specialist credential required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a supportive atmosphere for individuals receiving services.
• Provide supportive counseling throughout the ECO process and refer issues to staff as needed.
• Document progress and communicate with treatment team regarding progress and concerns.
• Conduct follow-up outreach to individuals served via face-to-face or phone contacts.
