Job summary

Whitington Services for Children and Families is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide non-clinical mentoring and recovery support to clients in both individual and group settings. The role emphasizes advocacy within health, legal, and social service systems, with a focus on person-centered recovery planning and empowerment.

Qualifications

• Lived Experience: in stable recovery 1–2 years.
• Bachelor’s degree as minimum educational background.
• Completion of a state-approved training program.
• Certified Peer Recovery Coach‑Associate, CPRC, NCPRSS, or CPSP.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapeutic services to clients.
• Lead and facilitate support groups or recovery workshops.
• Help clients access housing, employment, and community supports.
• Develop personal recovery plans and track progress toward goals.
• Maintain professional documentation within 48 hours of sessions.
• Coordinate with program staff to ensure quality care.
