Job summary

Recovery Action Network of Michigan (RANMI) in Detroit seeks a dedicated peer recovery support specialist to help individuals on their recovery journey. You will provide welcoming, trauma-informed support at RCC drop-ins and through community-based interactions.

Responsibilities include assisting with housing, transportation, employment, healthcare, and completing applications; supporting Medicaid enrollment; coordinating with partners; and facilitating peer-led groups.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with recovery from substance use.
• MDHHS CPRC certification or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office and online forms.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Western Wayne County.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse participants.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed peer recovery support through RCC drop-in services and community-based interactions.
• Assist participants with immediate needs, recovery goals, resource navigation, and warm referrals to community partners.
• Provide hands-on assistance with housing, transportation, employment, healthcare, financial assistance, and related applications and online systems.
• Support Medicaid enrollment and redetermination through portal navigation and referrals to enrollment specialists.
• Assist with RANMI client assistance programs in accordance with established procedures.
