Job summary

The Alamo Colleges District is seeking a Certified Peer Advisor – Student Success for the Veteran Affairs Office in San Antonio. This part-time, temporary role (not benefits eligible) requires 19 hours per week and hourly compensation.

You will support Student Success staff, engage with students, and help guide them to campus services during operation hours. Hours include Monday–Friday with some evening or weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours at one of the ACD colleges.
• Must complete badges related to this position as determined by the Alamo Colleges.
• Must complete Peer Advisor Certification training within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Student Success staff in various student services areas.
• Encourage and support students; refer to appropriate college services as needed.

This position requires having availability during our Student Success Hours of Operation.
Hours of Operation are:
Monday-Thursday: 8AM-7PM
Friday: 8AM-5PM
Saturday: 9AM-1PM

Assists Student Success staff in a variety of studentservices areas. Provides assistance and encouragement to all students. Refers students to appropriate college service area when necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours at one of the ACD colleges or another accredited institution of higher education after attending or graduating from an ACD college.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Must complete badges related to this position as determined by the Alamo Colleges.
• Must complete Peer Advisor Certification training, as assigned, within the first year of employment.
