Job summary

Hanger Clinic is seeking an Orthotic Fitter, Certified to join our clinical team in Woburn, MA. You will provide fitting and adjustment of off-the-shelf and pre-fabricated orthoses under indirect supervision, monitor patients over time, and ensure device fit and comfort.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, patient instruction, and collaboration with physicians and staff to optimize outcomes. A valid driver’s license and ABC certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an Associate degree is preferred.
• Current certification as a Certified Fitter or Orthotics (ABC) is required or eligible.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patient needs related to disease and functional loss.
• Provide independent patient care for devices within scope.
• Evaluate orthotic devices on patients and adjust for fit, function, and safety.
• Instruct patients in the use of orthotic devices.
• Document detailed clinical notes in patient records.
• Provide information to administrative staff to support reimbursement activities.
• Follow up with patients and physicians as needed.
• Offer in-service training to physicians and allied health professionals.
• Support other clinical staff as required.
• Adhere to safety regulations and regulatory requirements (Medicare, HIPAA, OSHA).
• Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
