Job summary

Qualifications

• Education level required: Associate's Degree.
• Must have Licenses/Certifications: Licensed OTA per state requirements (IDFPR for Illinois mentioned in source).
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• 1+ years of work experience in occupational therapy assistance.
• Ongoing continuing education related to acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Follows the therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response with communication to evaluating therapist.
• Implements patient-centered, occupation-based intervention plans and adapts activities to patient needs and environment.
• Collaborates with patient, family, and care team and educates patients and caregivers.
• Communicates clearly with patients, families, and team; documents in daily notes to support payer decisions.
• Collaborates with supervising OT and seeks direction when needed.
• Completes necessary documentation and participates in quality service delivery activities.
