Job summary

Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support licensed therapists in delivering rehab services to adult through geriatric patients. You will assist with therapeutic activities, document patient responses, and help patients regain independence within their capabilities.

The role requires current OTA licensure in Louisiana and BLS certification. Inpatient rehab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross is required (online certification not acceptable).
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in achieving their maximum functional performance while learning to live within their capabilities.
• Record patient responses to treatment and report outcomes to the Occupational Therapist.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and progress.

Job description

Position Summary: Performs component of occupational therapy procedures and related tasks under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and in accordance with practices of occupational therapy. Patient population ranges in age from 18 years to geriatric experiencing rehabilitation diagnosis/conditions and/or conditions requiring rehabilitation. Assist patients in achieving his/her maximum functional performance while learning to live within his/her capabilities. Record patient’s responses to treatment and report treatment outcomes to the Occupational Therapist.

Pay:

Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.

Desired Qualification:

• Inpatient rehabilitation experience.
