Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support therapy services for adults and geriatric patients in a rehabilitation setting. You will assist with therapeutic activities, monitor progress, and document responses under supervision.

Applicants must hold current OTA licensure in Louisiana and BLS certification; inpatient rehab experience is preferred. The hospital offers a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross; online certification not acceptable.
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience is desired.

Position Summary

Performs component of occupational therapy procedures and related tasks under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and in accordance with practices of occupational therapy. Patient population ranges in age from 18 years to geriatric experiencing rehabilitation diagnosis/conditions and/or conditions requiring rehabilitation. Assist patients in achieving his/her maximum functional performance while learning to live within his/her capabilities. Record patient’s responses to treatment and report treatment outcomes to the Occupational Therapist.

Pay:

Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.

Desired Qualification

• Inpatient rehabilitation experience.
