Job summary

Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital in Louisiana seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and determine treatment strategies that maximize independence in ADL, IADL, and cognitive/sensorimotor skills. You will deliver or delegate therapies to enhance safety and performance across daily activities and work tasks.

The role requires state OT licensure and BLS certification, with inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association/Red Cross; online certification not acceptable.
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluates and determines treatment strategies to maximize ADL/IADL, cognition, and sensorimotor function.
• Delivers or delegates therapies addressing psychosocial skills and safety in daily activities.
• Promotes safety and performance in activities of daily living, work, education, and social participation.
• Collaborates with the care team to implement rehabilitation plans with strong communication and organization.

Job description

Position Summary:

Independently evaluates, determines the treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate and rehabilitate acute or prolonged, skill or ability that has not yet is impaired in order to maximize function in the areas of activities of daily living, leisure/recreation, and productivity/work. Addresses dysfunction in psychosocial skills, cognition, and sensorimotor components. Interventions and procedures to promote or enhance safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL), instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), education, work,play, leisure, and social participation.

Pay:

Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.

Desired Qualifications:

• Inpatient rehabilitation experience
