Job summary

Mercy seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our inpatient rehabilitation team in Kirkwood, MO. Under supervision of a licensed O.T. and per Mercy standards, you will assist with assessments and implement individualized treatment plans for patients across age groups.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current OTA license or eligible for licensure.
• BLS certification; current before patient care.
• Experience: 1 year preferred; new grads considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under direction from the OT and per department policies.
• Document patient care progress notes and continued need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per policy.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records.
• Participate in educating within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of care for neonatal to geriatric age groups.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
